Heritage Station Museum is the museum of the Umatilla County Historical Society. Exhibits cover a wide range of county history with historic buildings and artifacts. UCHS has been the caretaker of county history for 50 years, UCHS started in 1974 as a private non-profit with the mission of collecting and preserving county history.
EXHIBITS:
Umatilla Gold recounts the history of wheat in Umatilla County, the geological events that shaped the county, and provides information on wheat farming today which includes technology.
Learn about the Oregon Trail through panels, artifacts, videos, and even try playing the classic Oregon Trail game. The Byrd Schoolhouse, Fix Family Cabin, and Caboose offer a walk-through history in a park setting.
ACCESSIBILITY:
HSM is accessible to all visitors, the schoolhouse, caboose, and cabin are currently the only areas that are not fully accessible. Sensory bags can be borrowed from the front desk (bags include headphones, fidget bracelet, tubes, and textured bean bags).
